Gloria Campaner
Venetian born pianist Gloria Campaner is regarded as one of the most interesting pianists of
her generation and tours regularly worldwide.
Recent highlights include tours in all the continents: Europe, China, Japan, South Africa, Armenia, Lebanon, USA, Israel, Latin America, India, Easter Island, and even Myanmar where she performed for a charity event in one of the first public concert after the end of the national dictatorship.
Gloria’s charismatic musicianship and devotion for chamber music has created numerous artistic collaborations across the globe with musicians such as Johannes Moser, Ivry Gitlis, Ana Chumachenco, Michael Kugel, Sergei Krylov, Quartetto di Cremona, Azahar Ensemble, Borusan Quartet, Angela Hewitt, Igudesman & Joo, Tamsin Waley-Cohen, Alessandro Carbonare, jazz musicians Leszek Mozdzer, Franco D’Andrea, Leszek Mozdzer, Stefano Bollani, to name a few and as well as with principal soloists of most prestigious orchestras (Berliner Philharmonic , La Scala Philharmony, National Orchestra of Santa Cecilia in Rome, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra of Amsterdam, Seattle Symphony Orchestra and Metropolitan Opera of New York).
Gloria is also committed to artistic collaborations with contemporary composers: recent premières include works by Márton Illés, Jorg Widmann, Marcello Abbado, Giovanni Sollima and Vittorio Montalti.
Her debut CD featuring solo piano works by Schumann and Rachmaninov was released by EMI in 2013; in 2017 she recorded Rachmaninov 2nd Piano Concerto with Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della Rai Orchestra and M° Valcuha (Warner) followed by a CD project dedicated to Schumann Kinderszenen and Piano concerto in A min, recorded with Orchestra Filarmonica del Teatro La Fenice and John Axelrod (nomination ICMA 2020). In June 2021 has been released a CD dedicated to Chopin’s 24 Préludes op.28 (Warner) and in 2022 a CD with Beethoven's Fifth Concerto for piano and orchestra together with the Canova Chamber Orchestra and Enrico Pagano conducting (MM/ Sony Music, ICMA Nominations 2023).
During the last seasons she has also participated in prestigious interdisciplinary and educational projects, among which we recall the show lesson "Ludwig van Beethoven: 5 things to know about his music" with Alessandro Baricco and the Canova Orchestra conducted by Enrico Pagano; the project debuted in the prestigious setting of the Arena di Verona and repeated at the Teatro Comunale in Ferrara in streaming for all schools in Italy on Beethoven's birthday.
In 2021, for Lingotto Musica, Gloria has created, together with Alessandro Baricco, "The best years of our lives", six meetings in which music and literature lead us through our history; Alessandro Carbonare, Enrico Dindo, Sergey Krylov were involved in the project, under the direction of Luca Scarzella. Also noteworthy is "Astor" concert that Gloria performed with Alessandro Carbonare and Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi at Expo Dubai; the event , dedicated to Astor Piazzolla, toured in Italy and abroad.
In June 2022 a project conceived by Gloria Campaner in June 2022 turned into the first edition of the "Fiesta" festival dedicated to music education during which creative writing workshops, theater workshops, body disciplines, artistic performances and lectiones magistrales were held in the beautiful setting of Villa Carlotta (Como).
Gloria is deeply involved in charity, social, human rights, education and music-awareness projects around the world.
In 2019 she also founded her own educational project named C# See Sharp: a creativity workshop for young musicians and performing artists.
Gloria was named European Ambassador for Culture (2010-2011) and in 2014, she was awarded a Borletti-Buitoni Trust Fellowship.
In 2018 Gloria Campaner guest piano professor at Nelson Mandela University of Port Elizabeth (South Africa).
Alessandro Carbonare,
born in Desenzano del Garda (Italy), is the principal clarinet of the Orchestra di Santa Cecilia in Rome since 2003. Prior to this, for 15 years he lived in Paris where he served as principal clarinet of the Orchestre National de France. His concerto appearances include the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, the National Orchestra of Spain, the Oslo Philarmonic Orchestra, the Südwestdeutsches Kammerorchester, the Bayerischer Rundfunk Munich, the Wien the Sinfonietta, the Orchestre National de France, the Berlin Radio Orchestra and all major Italian orchestras. As principal clarinet Carbonare also performed with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and New York Philharmonic Orchestra. Personally invited by Claudio Abbado, he played with the Lucerne Festival Orchestra and under him has live-recorded the Mozart clarinet concerto K622 for Deutsche Grammophon, which won the 49th Record Academy Awards 2013. Many other recordings are available, such as “Alessandro Carbonare, the Art of Clarinet” for Decca. Alessandro Carbonare plays not only classical music but also Jazz and Klezmer on several occasions and with different high caliber musicians. He is an active member of FESNOJIV in Venezuela, teaching music for free to hundreds of poor young people in Caracas. He often works together with many famous musician friends, such as Leonidas Kavakos, Pinkas Zuckerman, Alexandre Lonquich, Lang Lang, Martha Argherich, Paquito D'Riveira, Luis Sclavis, Enrico Pieranunzi, and Stefano Bollani. Carbonare is professor at Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome and during summer courses at Accademia Chigiana di Siena.
Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi
was born in Atessa on December 26th 1980. He began studying the accordion at the age of nine and, later on, he took on the bandoneon. From 1993 to 2001 he studied at the “F. Fenaroli” Civic Music school in Lanciano (CH, Italy) with M° C. Calista and with M° Cesare ChiacchiareOa. In 2007 he graduated with a first-class degree at the “S.Cecilia” Academy of Music in Rome, Italy. He has aOended specializaVon courses in Italy and abroad with J. Mornet, W. Zubitsky, A. L. Castaño, C. Rossi, Y. Shishkin. Brilliant performer with refined musicality, he has won many naVonal and internaVonal compeVVons and he has been invited in England, France, Belgium, CroaVa, Serbia, Germany, the U.S.A., Poland, Portugal, Finland, Switzerland, Hungary, Canada, Armenia, Russia, Bosnia Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Turkia, Libano, Belarus and China; he performed at Montreal Jazz FesVval, FesVval di San Remo; he performed with many refined Orchestra such as Orchestra dell'Arena di Verona, Orchestra Giovanile Italiana for the New Year Concert at Teatro Comunale in Florence, with the Orchestra Giovanile Italiana in Concerto per la Vita e per la Pace (Concert for Life and Peace), worldwide broadcast by RAI in Bethlehem On June 1st 2011 he performed at the Arena of Verona together with Erwin SchroO during the fesVviVes for the 150th anniversary of rhe Italian unificaVon. Together with Erwin SchroO and Anna Netrebeko he toured in the most important ciVes in Germany, England and Denmark. In 2005 he collaborated with the Teatro dell'Opera in Rome and the Symphony FoundaVon "Petruzzelli" of Bari to produce the Opera "Ascesa e Caduta della CiOà di Mahagonny" by Kurt Weill directed by M° J. Webb. He was invited several Vmes at the TV show Domenica In (RAI 1) and played with the RAI Orchestra conducted by Pippo Caruso. He recorded the soundtrack for the film “Caos Calmo” by Nanni Morej and in 2009 the soundtrack for the film “Italians” by Giovanni Veronesi, both soundtracks are composed by Paolo Buonvino. On 25th May 2009 he played at the Colosseo (Rome) with M° Andrea Bocelli, Angela Gheorghiu and Andrea Griminelli with the Abruzzo Symphony Orchestra. The event, worldwide broadcast, was in aid of the earthquake vicVms in Abruzzo. In 2014 he was protagonist in the producVon of the "Verdi Dance" choreographed by Misha van Hoecke at the Teatro dell'Opera in Rome.
